Buy Your Own Damn Flowers

For me, and hopefully for you, It’s a song about EMPOWERMENT. It’s about loving yourself first. The greatest love you can give yourself, is to love yourself. The power in that is beyond measure. 

I am blessed and honoured to be able to empower women with an experience that is far more than a boudoir photoshoot. My ultimate hope is that through my art and online voice, express the importance of loving yourself first, and not waiting or wanting the validation from others. That is and has always been my main message. Do things for you. What lights up your soul? What makes you feel good? Even if people don’t understand or feel the same way you do, doesn’t mean you can’t do ‘that thing’, whatever that is. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve not always been confident and sure of myself. Hell, I still struggle everyday. I would LOVE to go back and tell that 25 year woman to stop wasting so much time and energy on doing what is expected of her, and not what she desires. It gets you nowhere positive fast. I do know, that I feel better, and those around me feel better, when I give myself the time and energy to engage in activities that bring me joy. Life is really short. Time goes by really fast, so why wait? Why wait for someone else to buy the damn flowers, hold your hand, or especially to go dancing. Write your name is the sand. IN ALL CAPS.
